How To Charge Your Car

Charging your vehicle

Before heading to one of  our electricity pumps to charge up, there are three things you should do:

1.  Download the Electric Highway app

You'll need to download the Electric Highway app to charge up on the network. It's easy to download – just check out  our page to find all the information you need.

2. Check the pump's status with the app

We don’t often have problems with our electricity pumps, but it’s always best to check that the pump you want to use is live before you set off.

3. Brush up on charging your vehicle

If you're new to electric vehicles, make sure you read your user manual and have a look at our step-by-step guides to charging all electric vehicles below.

EV manufacturers use a few different plugs and charging procedures – but don’t worry, we’ve got them all covered.

Just click the charging procedure that matches your vehicle below.

Each charging session costs just 17 pence per kWh of electricity you use, plus a £3 connection fee for each session (there is no connection fee for Ecotricity energy customers).

For Nissan, Citroen, Peugeot and Mitsubishi vehicles.

For Renault, BMW (standard i3), Tesla and BYD vehicles.
